Spread-spectrum watermarking of audio signals

چکیده
Watermarking has become a technology of choice for a broad range of multimedia copyright protection applications. Watermarks have also been used to embed formatindependent metadata in audio/video signals, in a way that is robust to common editing. In this paper, we present several novel mechanisms for effective encoding and detection of directsequence spread-spectrum watermarks in audio signals. The developed techniques aim at: (i) improving detection convergence and robustness (ii) improving watermark imperceptiveness, (iii) preventing de-synchronization attacks, (iv) alleviating estimation/removal attacks, and finally, (v) establishing covert communication over a public audio channel. We explore the security implications of the developed mechanisms and review watermark robustness on a benchmark suite that includes a combination of audio processing primitives including: timeand frequencyscaling with wow-and-flutter, additive and multiplicative noise, resampling, requantization, noise reduction, and filtering. Index Terms — watermarking, spread-spectrum, audio signals, covert communication, de-synchronization, estimation attacks.

Optimum decoder for multiplicative spread spectrum image watermarking with Laplacian modeling
This paper investigates the multiplicative spread spectrum watermarking method for the image. The information bit is spreaded into middle-frequency Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) coefficients of each block of an image using a generated pseudo-random sequence. Unlike the conventional signal modeling, we suppose that both signal and noise are distributed with Laplacian distribution, because the ...
متن کاملDesign of a High Range, High Efficiency Spread Spectrum Transmitter for Audio Communication Applications
This work proposes a direct sequence spread spectrum transmitter with high transmission range and efficiency for audio signals. It is shown that by choosing high process gain for spread spectrum signal the data could reach a range of 55km in the 2.4GHz ISM band. By employing a light modulation scheme, we have a relaxed SNR requirement for having a low bit error rate (BER) which translates to re...
متن کاملA Synchronisation Method for Informed Spread-spectrum Audio Watermarking
Under perfect synchronisation conditions, watermarking schemes employing asymmetric spread-spectrum techniques are suitable for copy-protection of audio signals. This paper proposes to combine the use of a robust psychoacoustic projection for the extraction of a watermark feature vector along with non-linear detection functions optimised with side-information. The new proposed scheme benefits f...
متن کاملDynamics of Watermark Position in Audio Watermarked Files using Neural Networks
Previous researches on digital audio watermarking has shown that effective techniques ensure inaudibility, reliability, robustness and protection against signal degradation. Crucial to this is the appropriate position of the watermark in the files. There is a risk of perceivable distortion in the audio signal when the watermark is spread in the audio spectrum, which may result in the loss of th...
متن کاملImproved Performance of Spread Spectrum Audio Watermarking Technique, by reducing the Cost Function Using 6 Bipolar Vectors
Digital watermarking is an approach to inserting invisible or visible marks into a digital multimedia data for further detection of correct ownership at the later stages. Most of the watermarking techniques focus on image and audio file, and several are related to audio file. The proposed work concentrates on improving the performance of spread spectrum audio watermarking technique. Audio water...
